Morality: Zacharias is extremely loyal. He just happens to be loyal to a promise he made to a friend that he believes is dead - to protect his fiancee. It isn't about the DCD, really, it's about keeping Patricia safe. And leaving the DCD really isn't.

Enemies: Many. He is not particularly likable.
History:
The Smiths and the Puceys were long time associates, and good friends. So, consequently, were their children. When Voldemort returned both Zacharias and Adrian were pulled from the school. Along the way Adrian got engaged to a sweet, intelligent, and of course pureblood, mediwitch - Patricia Stimpson. Both became members of the DCD; Adrian became a spy.

When Adrian began to believe he was in trouble he went to Zach and told him that he thought the DCD was onto him and asked him to protect Patricia. Zacharias never hesitated to give it. DCD was nothing, not compared to what was, quite literally, his blood brother.

18 months ago Adrian died. He didn't even leave a body behind. What he did leave was a grief stricken friend, and fiancee. Since then he and Patricia have done what they could to get on with it. They've become closer, become lovers, so gradually they never realized it was happening until it already had.

They're doing the best they can.

Abilities

Skills: He's a spin doctor. He's smooth and charming, persuasive as anything when the need arises, and generally just one hell of a liar. He is very, very, hard to intimidate. He's more than able to hold his own in magical combat. Physical conflict - Well, he's strong and fast, on the ground and on a broom, but has very little experience with physical fighting, really.
Information: He knows that Adrian was a spy for XX before his 'death'. Otherwise information appropriate for his position within the DCD.
Possessions: Wand, broom, and a silver necklace with a (yellow) topaz stone that he wears constantly, but it's worn under his clothes. The only magical properties it has are that the chain is unbreakable and, it will return to him if misplaced or stolen. A not insignfigant amount of money - some his own, some that of his family. Adrian's fiancee, but we're not sure that counts.
